What if life and humans, appeared on Mars instead of Earth several billion years ago? Let's assume it has for a moment.

Do you think life would have evolved faster or slower? If for some reason life evolved faster and humans evolved faster on Mars while it could harbor life, do you think we could have been able to save Mars and prevent it from becoming a wasteland?

Or maybe humans would have evolved differently and would be able to live on Mars as it is today... is that possible?

Some thoughts:

Humans are natural order of things in the Universe. That is ...majority intelligent life (Technology) , minority are there too...as or higher intelligent depending on the time spent.

As such, if Mars had the right features, would have Human type groups that moved away on generational ships...and got support from others in the process. (They did)

It may be possible they came here too...

Slow or fast depends on the life forms that take over the physical body. In the old days (about three to four billion years) life was slow growing...

In the last billion years, life does grow faster, because we have support system everywhere...

Our life is not exactly our life. A large number come from other life forms....gradually evolve. That is because, our body has both physical and energy structure. The energy structure can move in time and grow...with permission. Therefore slow and fast depends on who is moving in and when.

As I said, in the beginning...it was slow, lately, it is fast....

Note that Physical beings go up to Five Billion Years, this side of the Universe. And you could be a Mars Person...Only Akhasic Record can tell us that.
