Before it comes up, I should point out that the multiverse they're talking about here - an infinite collection of bubble universes - is not the same as the multiverse from M-Theory (previously called string theory.)

The M-theory multiverse is a higher dimensional space containing membranes (or "branes,") one of which our universe (and, presumably, these other "bubble universes") exists on the surface of.

It is also not the "multiverse" that the "many worlds" interpretation of quantum theory uses.

All three multiverses are different, though none are mutually exclusive.
