Absolutely not. See? There are 6 longitudinal lines.
The globe intersects the badge at the same angles.
The black band around the globe is roughly the same dimensions as the band that says German Antarctic Expedition.
Looking into the documentation on this badge, a military unit associated with this crazy project to use Antarctica as a base was the 177th Expeditionary Force.
This expedition really happened and there are all sorts of crazy stories of UFOs and time travel associated with it.
John Titor, and or the person who designed this badge, is probably a fan of UFOs as well.
