W.Va. Teen Arrested After 'Almost Inciting Riot' Wearing NRA Shirt to School

A West Virginia teen arrested and accused of nearly inciting a riot after a confrontation with a teacher over his National Rifle Association t-shirt has inspired dozens of students across his county to wear similar apparel in solidarity.

Jared Marcum, 14, had a confrontation Thursday with a Logan Middle School teacher over his NRA t-shirt, which bears the organization's logo, along with an image of a hunting rifle and the phrase, "Protect your right."

Marcum's lawyer, Ben White, said that when the teen was told to remove the shirt or turn it inside out, he attempted to engage the teacher in a debate.

"Jared respects firearms and has training to use them, and believes in the Second Amendment," White told ABCNews.com. "He believes it's being threatened by current legislation. He wore [the shirt] as an expression of political speech and the need to protect the Second Amendment."

White said that Marcum had been wearing the shirt without causing any problems from homeroom at the beginning of the school day through fifth period, and was confronted by one of the school's teachers while getting his lunch. When Jared refused to remove or reverse the shirt, the teacher began to raise his voice, and it caught the attention of students eating their lunch, White said.

Marcum was eventually arrested and taken away by police after refusing to remove the shirt. White said that when police told the teen they were going to arrest him, he stuck his hands out and said, "Fine."

Logan City Police Chief E.K. Harper told ABCNews.com that Marcum was not arrested for wearing a t-shirt, but for "disrupting the school process."

"His conduct in school almost incited a riot," Harper said.

Marcum was not put in jail, Harper said, and was released to his mother after less than 30 minutes at the police station -- normal procedure for a juvenile arrest.

White said that charges being filed against Marcum are pending the prosecutor's office's review of the evidence. But he insisted that it was the teacher who caused the issue by confronting the teen, and that video gathered from the school will prove it.

"I believe the teacher was acting beyond the scope of his employment," he said. "What the video shows is that students did step up on the benches to the tables in the lunchroom when they were escorting Jared out of building. Kids jumped up, clapping. Teachers said to get off and be quiet, and they did."

Logan county schools' dress code, which is posted online, prohibits clothing and accessories that display profanity, violence, discriminatory messages or sexual language, along with ads for alcohol, tobacco or drugs. There is no mention of the NRA or guns.

"My belief is that if the teacher could have applied some common sense and say, 'I think that violates the dress code. Let me check with the dress code,'" White said.

When contacted by ABCNews.com about the incident, Logan County Schools Superintendent Wilma Zigmond said that she was not at liberty to discuss students with the media, but indicated that more than the shirt led to the arrest.

"I don't think I've ever known of a student being suspended for a shirt," Zigmond said.
On top of his arrest and trip to the police station, Marcum was suspended from school for one day. This morning, he returned to school wearing the same t-shirt, White said.

White accompanied Marcum and his stepfather to a meeting at the school, where the principal, according to White, said that she "hates that it happened" to Marcum.

Logan County students wore NRA t-shirts today in solidarity with Marcum, White said, adding that Marcum is an honor roll student eyeing a career in the military. Zigmond did not mention any disciplinary action during school today.

White is confident that all of the evidence will work in the teenager's favor.

"There's no evidence that Jared almost caused a riot," he said. "They won't be able to produce any evidence to that fact. ... The teacher should have the ability to debate things with students. I don't care how you slice it. ... It was the teacher not acting like an adult. He created the issue."

Cop Sexually Assaults Woman, In Court, Then Arrests Her For Protesting

(Before It's News)
support-police-beat-yourself-up.jpg

This story is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of what is wrong with both our police departments as well as our justice system. A cop sexually assaults a woman, then arrests her for protesting the sexual assault. Not just that, but News8 shares widespread and rampant injustice throughout the system in this shocking report. This video report brought to us by ‘Support Police: Beat Yourself Up’ with links below.

Here a little insight into why some cops should NOT be in that profession…
The results of a study conducted in NJ as to the suitability of the people working in law enforcement showed that 40% were not suitable for work with-in the public service jobs area, and that 10% were criminals and show be behind bars.
Also, when I took the judgment test in the training book for law enforcement students I was called into the dean’s office after the test were graded and told to have a seat.
I was told that I got a score of 98% and that was good until after the Dean told me that everyone else failed miserably.
The point is that the folks wanting to work in law enforcement would be able to carry a lethal weapon and be authorized to use deadly force based upon their good judgment.
So when you get pulled over for a traffic ticket…just pay the damn bill and be glad you get to go home that night alive.
It won’t pay to be right when you’re dead right!

California Senate Passes Bill Requiring Permit to Buy Ammo

Stephen Green

June 24, 2013

Once again, Sacramento proves that to go really over-the-top, you’ve got to go to Democrat California:
The California Senate this week approved a collection of bills, including one (SB 53) that would require background checks, permits, and fees for the purchase of ammunition. All ammunition sales would have to be face-to-face, happening only in the presence of a store clerk; and vendors selling the bullets would have to submit sales records to the California Department of Justice. Those vendors also would need a permit to sell ammunition.
Kira Davis notes that SB 53 also “requires background checks and a $50 ammo purchase fee.”

It wasn’t that long ago that I saw Dick Durbin on one of the Sunday shows, with the stuff-eating grin on his face, joked about taxing bullets until they cost a hundred or a thousand dollars apiece. Which I could find that video, but no one seems to have grabbed it.

So if you think something like this can happen only in California — think again.

Saudi Princess Appears in Court in Slavery Case
The Saudi princess was ordered to surrender her two passports.

Saudi Princess Appears in Court in Slavery Case | NBC Southern California
Vikki Vargas
A Saudi Princess accused of human trafficking for her treatment of a domestic employees made her first court appearance Thursday. Meshael Alayban posted $5 million bail, and is now required to wear a GPS tracking device. Vikki Vargas reports from Santa Ana for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on July 11, 2013.

A Saudi princess accused of keeping domestic servants against their wills in her Irvine condominium posted bail Thursday afternoon and will be monitored by a GPS tracking device, the Orange County District Attorney said.

Wearing a navy blue jail jumpsuit and her hair tied up into a bun, Meshael Alayban, 42, appeared in a Santa Ana courtroom Thursday to face human trafficking charges.

One Kenyan worker escaped the condo and flagged down help after being held for months, prosecutors said. Authorities found four more women from the Philippines when they searched Alayban's home.

A protective order was issued to keep Alayban from contacting the Kenyan woman, who prosecutors said agreed to be a maid for Alayban for two years in order to care for her ill 8-year-old son.

"Her contract was torn up, her visa was confiscated, and she was put to work seven days a week, 16 hours a day," said Tony Rackauckas, the Orange County District Attorney.

The contract indicated the Kenyan worker would be paid $1,600 a month, but ended up being paid $220 a month, authorities said.

"She was promised one thing and she was lied to, manipulated and intimidated by this defendant," said the alleged victim's attorney, Steve Baric. "All her rights as a freedom-loving individual and citizen of the world were violated."

All five women were in good health and showed no indications of physical abuse, officials said.

Alayban's husband was inside the condominium at the time of the arrest, but he was not charged.

Jail records listed Alayban's occupation as "princess." She is one of six wives to a grandson of the king of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Alayban came to the U.S. with her three children on a vacation visa and has been in Irvine since at least May, officials said.

She was being held on $5 million bail and ordered to surrender her two passports.

Because she posted bail, Alayban will be required to have a GPS device attached to her and is barred from leaving Orange County without the court's permission.

W.Va. Teen Arrested After 'Almost Inciting Riot' Wearing NRA Shirt to School

-_-

He wore a shirt that had an offensive picture on it. A gun. Most schools here in the states have dress code policies, just like the place of my employment, I have a dress code policy to follow. Their dress code policy states that shirts cannot have pictures of offensive content, including guns.
Good lord, the school did the right thing and when he became hostile, they called the police. Bravo.

I can see how the school felt the picture of a gun on a shirt can be uncomfortable. And they suspended him because he defied being told what to do, they told him to remove the offensive shirt, he refused, he broke the rules. HELLO PEOPLE WAKE UP.

Just like one time in high school, I misspoke and told a teacher I was going to bring a shotgun to school, they ended up suspending me and nearly expelling me. Do you think they had the right to suspend me? I think they did, I was deemed a threat to the welfare and safety of staff and students and even myself.

Same thing this kid did here, he had a picture of a gun on his shirt, that is offensive. It violates the dress code. He broke the rules when he refused to remove the shirt and debated with the teacher about why its not against the rules. The school felt uncomfortable and called the police after he became a tad hostile.

Teen shot on streetcar to cop:
‘You’re a f-ing pussy’
Joe Warmington
Edmonton Sun
July 29, 2013

The abundantly available video evidence is as disturbing to listen to as it is to watch.

But you know it will be by a lot people.

“You’re a f—ing pussy.” These are believed to be the final words of 18-year-old Sammy Yatim as he was shot from the gun of at least one Toronto Police officer.

“Drop the knife” may have been the very last words he heard before being shot to death.

These are just some of many revelations on a new video taken by downtown resident Markus Grupp, who was walking by when the incident occurred on Dundas St. W. and Grace St. just after midnight Saturday.
