I thought of this.. but here's the catch. If you are purposefully making yourself known, then you should be intelligent enough to know who and when you are making yourself known to. So we're left with a few ideas from this: 1. The sightings of UFO's far out there that someone catches a glimpse of the tail end of a show or manuever as it veers off into wherever. 2. The distinct sighting where they show up for a couple/family/individual.. but it's probably the last person on Earth that it makes sense to show themselves to. Who is going to believe that, I, a normal guy saw a UFO? Or even care for that matter? Why not show themselves to a news reporter or some other public figure (other than Jessie the Body Ventura)? 3. Just because they have developed a flying saucer, maybe it doesn't necessarily mean they've advanced to a degree of not needing headlights on their world for whatever reason. I'm sure it's not 100% inconceivable that a highly advanced society could still not have figured out something that would maybe seem trivial or like a prerequisite before they'd get to interstellar travel. 4. If they really do come from inside the Earth, maybe it gets really dark in there?...
