Anthony Blinken said that nobody has an interest in destroying the pipeline, sounding like he knows who did it, and the USA has a history of opposing the pipeline while it was being built. So either a western country with low gas dependency did it to permanently sever ties between Germany and Russia, or Russia did it because the USA would look like the usual suspect of interfering.

Russia now blames the USA with their standard rethoric, but Russia also has presence in the area due to boat routes to Kalingrad after train routes through the EU was partially blocked. Anyone could access that area using a stealth submarine or civilian flagged fishing boat with a covert operation team. Anthony Blinken is too smart to lash out in obvious denial if it was the USA who did it. If this is part of Russia's energy war of making Europeans freeze, Putin probably sees it as sacrificing a queen for a king in a game of chess.

Poland is against Nordstream 2 because they get more money if the gas goes through their country and their pipelines. Furthermore, their pipelines are not damaged.

The thanking of the US could be a distraction to put the blame on the US.

But the damage also looks like the murder of Litvinenko, when Putin camouflaged his pedophilia and homo- or bisexuality:

Putin could be doing this kind of stuff with sleeper agents in Europe. That would be my first gurss. But that could also be Poland and they try to put the blame on the US. That would be my second guess.

Natural gas is a transition source for them. Coal is more evil and also oil. It is better for them that there is more gas through the pipelines, because you need less coal and oil.

This is agreed... but it doesn't make the climate worshippers smart or informed. They're actively killing nat gas here in Texas any chance they get. They also don't seem to understand that reducing us to wood and candles would still be more polluting that nat gas.
