How was I supposed to know if you knew it was legit or not? I've gotten people sending it to me thinking it was real. Also, you haven't proven NASA has created the biggest hoaxes in history. And yeah, I'm a believer in denial, despite the overwhelming evidence supporting my side. Good luck.

How big were the windows? Were any ever directly facing the sun for long periods of time? How thick was the glass of the windows? What type of glass were the windows made of? Were the windows polarized? Was there every any cover over the windows? How much radiation should be coming through the...

Woah woah woah. 3.86x10^26 watts per square meter? That's very wrong. That value is the energy the sun emits TOTAL, not per square meter. The value above, 1.36kW/m^2, is how much would be hitting the spacecraft, not the 386000000000000000000000 kW emitted by the sun. No. .75 inches (minimum)...

There is no Northern anomaly. It isn't "packed" with radiation either, it's just an area where the inner belt gets a bit closer to the surface of Earth than normal. I've never heard that about Florida though, and there doesn't seem to be any problem for the other missions launched from Florida...

I'm assuming you're talking about the total emitted power of the sun, right? You do know that the Earth only receives about 1/2.2billionth of that? 3.86x10^26 * .0000000045 = 1.73*10^17 watts. But, Earth is REALLY big. It has a cross section of 127,400,000km^2, so it's about 1.36kW/m^2, or...

I still don't understand why it wouldn't be easier to just get rid of the tapes right away, or not make them. Why would the government want to keep the tapes if there's something on them that could expose a gigantic secret? It wasn't only costs that led to recording-over of the tapes. NASA had...

I think you're thinking of the South Atlantic Anomaly. I've never heard that "pole" argument, though. Launching at the poles would have effects on the orbit that most people don't want. Mainly, rather than orbiting West-East, it would be much more North-South/South-North, which is really only...

I did enjoy debating Perhaps I will make my own thread, if this goes on long enough without any progress made.

Any evidence for any of this, besides Gagarin's well-documented crash? Only if you stay in the most intense areas of the belts for a few weeks, especially the inner belt. Apollo missed the inner belt almost entirely, and stayed in the weaker points of the belts for no more than 4 hours each...

Why keep the tapes at all, then? Why not immediately destroy them, rather than wait 10 years? Hell, why even make them in the first place if you're going to put stuff on there that no one can see ever?

If.. you know.. read what I wrote, you'd know it's not because of "reasons." The LM's descent engine cut off a few feet above the surface (to be precise, it was 7'2", or 2.2m according to this manual from NASA. It was not a foot above when it cut off. You'd also know that I never said there was...

Would you mind explaining what doesn't sit right? I'm sure it boils down to a few possibilities that can easily be explained. I'm not sure what you're saying here. That'd actually be pretty difficult to hide. First, the size of the rocket necessary to even launch the spacecraft(s) to go to...

First off, they likely didn't realize it was the Apollo tapes. If you read anything on what happened, you'll read that they were likely shipped to Goddard with other random tapes, and then recycled. They didn't know the tapes were Apollo tapes until years AFTER this occurred. The HBO satellites...

In the volume NASA needed? In the late 70s - early 80s, where NASA's budget was at its lowest ever? In the time where magnetic tape was being phased out? I don't think so. If you want to read what NASA officially has to say on it, here you go: NASA - Update: Apollo 11 Tapes

Uh what? This was the 80's. Data reels weren't in mass production any more, if they even were in production at all. NASA had begun switching to digital storage and this was one of the last times they used magnetic tapes. There's always been a shortage since the advent of digital storage.
