[QUOTE="Common Sense Conspiracy, post: 165481, member: 15738"] It’s not just that often that the politics of the state of Alabama enter the national and even international consciousness. You certainly normally wouldn’t see Hollywood celebrities that couldn’t find Alabama on a map endorsing candidates. Still, the current race that will wind up on Tuesday has a lot on the line. Former Judge Roy Moore has a history of controversy, and he has embarrassed the state on the national stage on more than one occasion. That alone would have made him an unlikely candidate, theoretically. But in the manner of Donald Trump, he easily beat his opponents in the primary and seemed to be a shoe-in until women came out of the woodworks to reveal that he may have preyed on young girls when he was younger. This was enough to throw the winner of Tuesday’s election in doubt and give Democrats an outside shot at getting a huge victory. Getting a Democrat elected to the Senate out of Trump-land would be a big deal and would bolster their efforts to take back some Congressional seats in the 2018 election cycle. What we at Common Sense Conspiracy think about this election is that it is even more proof how wrecked the two-party one-party system in America is. Here you have good, decent people having to pick between someone that may be a child molester or at the very least guilty of some pretty faulty moralistic moves, and on the other side, someone that completely lines up against everything they believe in. Wouldn’t it be a great time for another option that was realistic? People in America shouldn’t have to vote down a party line regardless of a candidate. People in America should not have to watch the establishment try to manipulate them into doing their bidding. Regardless of your political opinion of Donald Trump, he was signal that America can rise up and decide to over-rule the establishment at times. What will happen on Tuesday? Doesn’t matter. Either way American loses again.
