Brian Cox - Alien Life & The Great Filter Hypothesis

I'm unable to decide if we passed the great filter, or if it's still ahead. We've been around for such a short time, though... It has to be ahead of us.
 

It's still ahead, and there will be multiple filters. Eventually we'll get the technology so everyone can have their own personal nukes. When we stop blowing ourselves up with them, that will be the biggest filter. The same goes for biological virus technology, nanites, the AI robot uprising, and so on.
