In uno dei disegni si può intuire che il raggio emesso dal macchinario ad oltrepassare la parete permettendo di vedere l’ambiente esterno come si presentava in epoche remote. Quando si vide prelevare e trascinare fuori con la forza da coloro che, prima gli presero il diario e poi cercarono di portarlo fino alla chiesa della Valle Benedetta affinchè mostrasse loro il funzionamento della macchina, l’emozione fu troppo forte e il cuore del povero Dorino non resistette e mentre veniva trascinato giù dalle scale ebbe un malore che gli fu fatale. La grande paura che Dorino mostrò in quella circostanza non era imputabile all’azione di forza che stava subendo, ma piuttosto al pensiero di doversi trovare vicino al macchinario e doverlo accendere standoci a breve distanza. Dorino temeva molto il macchinario e il solo pensiero di starci vicino mentre era in funzione lo terrorizzava. La morte di Dorino rimase un mistero per gli amici e conoscenti, nessuna riusciva a capire il motivo per cui egli, che mai era uscito la notte da solo, proprio quella sera avesse avuto tanta premura di farlo senza avvertire.
