(English) A challenge to how difficult, practically impossible it is to be able to identify all the spirals present in the church, also by virtue of the fact that over the centuries the architectural and ornamental interior of the church has changed significantly. A strong earthquake in 1846 with its epicenter in the locality of Orciano which shook the hills of Livorno and in particular the Valle Benedetta caused serious damage to the church, caused part of the ceiling to collapse and caused most of the plaster to detach, bearing decorative frescoes on the ceiling. Antonio Huygens wanted to create a space inside the church that could recall the shape and symbols of the mirror of the hermitage. A space decorated with lines and spirals and two large representations on the sides that had the shape of two parallel mirrors positioned opposite each other. Above these two representations Huygens had four large spirals placed as he was aware of the existence of the other three elements that once formed a single mechanism. Exactly they are: the green eye of the gods, or more simply the mirror of the hermitage present at the time in villa Huygens, the blue eye of the gods, the heart of the gods (red machinery) and the mind of the gods (black machinery) .
