Two attempted terrorist attacks were thwarted by the captain, one inside the subway and one on the Galata bridge. But the captain, after being "hijacked" to Tell Halaf in Syria, at the request of his descendant, known as "the corporal", was unable to be present to thwart the latest Kurdish attack that took place in Istikal last November 13 .
