Do Jinn and other entities exist

I know there have been a variety of spirit and spirit type encounters but I have never heard anyone encountering a Jinn or similar entity. I am certain other strange entities exist too.

Anyone encounter or know anyone to encounter one?

Speaking of which what is the strangest entity any of you encountered?
 
I've never heard any either. I searched Google using the spelling; "Djinn" and came up with this link of stories..

"Edit"... There are several different spelling for Jinn, Djinn, Jinni, Genie.. And I've seen so far that altering to use one of these other variations of spelling will give different results in your searches for stories.
 

According to the Quran, Allah created Man and the Djinn. If this is the case then maybe the term Djinn is a coverall for absolutely everything else besides Man.
 

They even have a surah for themselfes in el Quran.
There are surahs where a djinn converted to islam (Surah 72: 1-19 and 46: 29-32) for example.
Pre-islamic faith seemed to worship them instead (they found them depicted on places of worship) a bit like celts or hindu it seems to me.
They are definetly described as entities and demons. I guess it depends the type of view you have.
Quran says they have to face the ultimate judgement of god themselfes just as the humans.
Looks like they are an in-between angels/servants of a god and humans.

I guess if you want to get into it, the Wikipedia helps you pretty good, to get the right search terms to enlighten yourself.
Interesting stuff and lots of storys there to read, thats for sure.
