There's a basic territoriality instinct present in most animal species, including humanity. Aggression is the way animals maintain control of their own territory. In the distant past humans perverted this instinct, when they developed larger and more elaborate societies. It got to the point where territory was no longer controlled by individuals or tribes, it was "owned" by kings. War became the form of aggression that was used against neighboring kingdoms, and the prize had less to do with land and resources, and more to do with wealth, and slaves. Territories became larger, kings became emperors, and threats were invented to take advantage of weaker opponents. Kings depended upon dukes and earls and counts and governors to oversee their territory, and to provide the finances needed to equip the armies when it was time to go to war. As the feudal period drew to a close in Europe, the practice of banking developed. Rather than having their vassals impose high, short term taxes to raise money, kings found it easier to borrow money from the bankers. After the war was over they would pay off a part of the loans they had taken out by sharing the booty that had been looted from the enemy with the bankers. The rest was paid back over time through the imposition of much smaller taxes than the higher taxes if no loans had been used. This approach resulted in the king having to deal with much less trouble from the peasants who had to pay those taxes. It didn't take long for the bankers to realize that the financing of war earned them more profit than any other activity they could engage in. From there, the bankers learned about political intrigue; how to pit one opponent against another. In this manner they became skilled at starting wars for the sake of earning profits. This is how the Rothschild family became so powerful. Family members were trained in the art of "banking" and then sent to different locations throughout Europe to open new banks. These banking enterprises eventually became the central banks of the European nations. I'm not familiar with the Papa Midnight incident, though the term is quite descriptive. You are correct, in my opinion; there are people who think they own the world. Not only do they think that way, they have the legal documents to prove that they do own large chunks of it. And if there's a part of the world they want to claim for themselves, and they don't have the documents to prove it, they simply have a new document created that says they own it, then start a war when someone disputes their claim. But working behind the scenes, the ones doing the actual document forging are the international bankers. In all likelihood, these bankers are the most likely suspects who whispered into the ear of their client that created the urge or belief that the new claim of ownership is justified in the first place. Bankers simply don't concern themselves with who owns what. They simply assume they own everything already; they "know" it is their birthright to own everything. But instead of putting the deed into their own hands, they let petty dictators and industrial capitalists, and royal bloodlines hold the deeds, and fight the wars. While the violence ensues, the bankers sit back and rake in the cash they collect in the form of interest payments on the loans they make that are needed to build and maintain the armies. From its outward appearance, the World Bank is there to "help" underdeveloped nations raise the standard of living of their populations. In reality, the World Bank is simply an instrument for creating debt that is supposedly owed to those who own the banks involved. Instead of improving life for all, the result is the destruction of the environment that is leading to the collapse of the biosphere that supports all life on this planet. It's very shortsighted; it's very sick. In other words, it is pure evil.
