First reaction to John Titor story Well, not entirely fiction, is it? We should take Cornelia's interpretation to heart, if only because it casts doubt on the storyteller, where it properly belongs. The story itself will soon become either fiction or nonfiction. As for the targeted audience, consider that it was the internet audience that first blew the whistle on Patriot II, which had been secretly run through Congress and was ready for passage without public debate or discussion (which are actually formal legal requirements for such a devastating piece of legislation)-- before the vote, the internet leak caused them to withdraw the legislation and try a different tack, resulting in the passage of only a few of the provisions. Many important breaking stories are first broken on the internet, among just the type of people who "frequent" the boards. I have learned over the years that you must watch the edges of society to learn of the trends and coming events that are most significant. Every pioneering scientist, poet, and thinker is there in that margin or "fringe," and you can find most of the important inventions in science fiction-- a realm not known for mainstream personalities. To find the one Grayson has called "Time Traveler One," I think you would most likely go to the internet; likewise, if you wanted to spring a scarcely-believable set of predictions on the world, you would most likely go to the time travel forums.
