Former cop killed in the Buffalo shooting invented a water-based car?

Just spotted this when snooping around. I'm curious what you guys think of it. Would they go to such length as to fake a shooting in order to stop the invention of the water-powered car?

Stanley Allen Meyer was the inventor of the water based car. He was poisoned and died. It seems someone is mixing up stories to further their agenda.
