How to save the Soviet Union?

Here is a list of what objects, technologies and information a Time traveller may need to bring with him if he is to save the the Soviet Union:
survival information and gear, information about communism, Russian and military strategy

Imagine if you could go back and take all that stuff. You would have to be very careful that you didn't get arrested for being a spy.
I myself have been thinking a lot about what the Soviet Union would have really been like back then for the last few months for some unknown reason. Not sure why. Wondering if there was propaganda made up from the west if it was that bad. Mind you I don't agree with communism either. But wish I had of visited back in the day and had a look myself.
