HYPOTHETICAL MISSIONS

I thought it would be an interesting discussion that we may all enjoy, and would serve as a free form brainstorming thought exercise. The idea is to simply describe discuss and share hypothetical time travel missions, based on whatever, ...it's free form 'what if?'.

I will go first.

It is based of being able to create a time portal or teleportation device that could transport large or small objects and people to a point or window in time.

The Mission;

Transport a convoy of various sea vessels; merchant cargo/container ships, tankers, tugs, maintenance/tenders, military frigates or patrol craft, communication and supply vessels, small commuter craft, etc.. to a point many thousands of years ago, ...say twenty or thirty thousand years ago, one way trip.

Part A - Contained on your ships would be a small floating 'fold out' city, something that could be pieced together in combination with the ships. I imagine it like a bunch of large floating platforms connecting ships, like a big pad with shipping containers laid out and used for housing, industrial, commercial districts, storage, etc. Maybe have large tents and awnings with rain water collection systems, ..Agricultural districts with a small chicken farm, hydroponic garden, hanging net seafood nursery, etc.

It may be a good idea to park it near a deserted isolated island somewhere where you can put agricultural space or whatever. It may also be a good idea to design it in a ready-to-tow status should you need to avoid a storm.

The idea would be to design it in a way that would be self sufficient using long term renewable energy sources such as solar or wind generators as well as ship generators and water purification systems, or whatever else you can set up. The ships generators use fuel, so you have to consider that your supply is limited to whatever you can take with you, unless you want to take a small drilling outfit and refinery to make more fuel. How many years would a tanker (or three, four, ..) of diesel last if all you used it for was running a few generators about the same size of a Volkswagen Beetle?

Part B - Contained on your ships would be a fold out launch facility, storage area and assembly plant.

The launch facility would probably be best suited a safe distance away from the main village, perhaps a mile or so. It may not be a bad idea to also separate the fuel storage and assembly plants separate as well.

The idea is to launch a series of rockets to the moon containing equipment and materials for producing an underground moon base as to be waiting to be discovered later.

Imagine two or three container ships worth of various replicating robots that function like an insect colony, whose purpose is to build an underground base.

Have about three to five, eight, whatever ships full of supplies like rocket parts, fuel, cells of thin liquid epoxy resin that can be used to make ceramic polymer concrete material out of moon dust, various chemicals or pre-manufactured/pre-fabricated parts, utilities like solar battery charger stations, 3-D printers or other processing type machinery, various raw materials, oxygen producing bacteria and grasses, communication pods, etc..etc..etc..etc.. whatever is needed.

Have a few more ships containing building materials for the launch pad and assembly plant for the supply rockets.

If you could hang out near an isolated island somewhere in the south pacific and launch small supply rockets to the moon periodically for a decade or two, it may be feasible to have a base built by the time humans discover radio communication, whereby it would be possible to receive a transmission from a base beaming a signal to Earth.

Or maybe we can do a 'go fund me' and do it now?

...just an idea.

What if the people on the moon in the past evolve into some strange humanoid race and then decide to attack earth in the present? The time machine movie had similar primase but not exactly.I like this idea better.

What if....

God sent time travelers to do his work and perhaps Jesus was a time traveler. Perhaps the saints are/were time travelers sent out to do certain work to help humanity. Obviously, in the end, humanity makes most of their missions fail.

What if the world were filled with time travelers.... and some time travelers are sent out to find the corrupt ones....
