John's talk about home searches You're absolutely right Paul. I got pulled over a couple of months ago for "alledgedly" driving in a "reckless" manner. I didn't get a ticket, but I was pulled over by a member of the local SWAT team. All black uniform, and very heavily armed in a barely marked car. I was asked if I had a weapon in my vehicle to which I responded in the affirmative. I was asked if the officer had permission to retrieve the weapon from the vehicle to which I gave instructions as to the location of the weapon and responded in the affirmative. After the weapon was retreived, I was asked if the weapon was loaded, and was a round in the chamber of the weapon. Yes, the weapon was loaded, but no round was in the chamber. It was a .40 caliber Baretta Border Master, a semi-automatice hand gun that I keep in my car. The SWAT officer complimented me on my choice of weapons for which I was grateful. After examing my weapon, and explaining my "reckless" driving, my weapon was returned to my vehicle and I was allowed to leave with no ticket or written warning. Had I offered any resistance, I was very clear that the weight of the local law enforcement and govt. would have been pressed upon me. It's cool for now. There's an "illegal gun" project going on here right now. There are several circumstances that will get you a minimum of 5 yrs. in federal prison for the "illegal" possesion" of a firearm. It doesn't sound very constitutional, but the hell do I know. Cary
