
Winamp is not going open source. Here's what it is doing - and why
To refresh its once iconic Windows media player, Winamp is kind of, sort of opening up the source code. See what that means for users and developers.

Hopefully, this means it's going to come back as a strong contender among popular audio players. There's such nostalgia about this player.

I've used it for years in the early 2000s. Good memories. Then I switched to iTunes, shame on me! lol
I've been using VLC in the mean time, it's a great media player when you don't have a library to manage.
I sincerly hope this is going to help bring Winamp back to its former glory. It would be awesome.
