Trump has no say in it.
Besides, this isn't news. As Ryan said on the call, he was on the record opposing Trump from the get-go.
I'll tell you why - he was - like everyone else - certain that Trump would lose. A Trump loss in that election would have ruined the Republican Party for a decade at least. Even more so had they all backed Trump enthusiastically.
Ryan is a politician. As such, he knows which side of the bread has the butter.
On top of that, Ryan is the only guy in Washington that has attempted to implement a conservative tax and budget plan - it was shot down a few years ago, but he did submit it.
Ryan is Speaker because nobody else that could get the votes wanted it (neither did he, if you'll remember.)
