Psychic Animals

I personally believe that all living creatures are psychic. In fact, as crazy as this sounds, studies have found that plants even send eachother messages about the environment and current weather conditions (that can be another topic I can post later). So, animals are included.

Do you ever find your cat staring at you? Then, you suddenly know what they want. How do they always know when you need a cuddle the most? Are they psychic or are they just reading environmental cues?

I think it's a combination of both. Opinons?

Cats, Dogs and other animals have brains that we do not have. If anything, they use more brain power than we do currently, so they are able to sense and react to things, we normally cannot sense and react to. They read you, they read your emotions, your smell, etc. Maybe it is psychic. I wouldn't say the type that can tell you lotto numbers though. But a more spiritual psychic.

I agree. I doubt animals see the future, but I believe they (and we!) can communicate telepathically. Certain animals, like cats, have that ability strongly. I think their reading of us is a combination of reading/detection our emotions telepathically as well as noticing external factors.

Well I have a small story to tell about a cat that I once had. His name was Merlin. One day he was sitting perched on the bed as he often did. I was just puttering around on my computer at the time. Merlin started to make a very low guttural growling sound. I had never heard him make a sound like that before. It was more like a growl that a dog would make. I turned around to see what the problem was. Merlin was standing in a very aggressive posture, and had his eyes locked onto something. Something in the air close to the ceiling from what I could tell. I looked to the location, but didn't see anything there. But I was convinced Merlin did see something there. My cat was seeing and sensing something outside the realm of my senses. And he didn't like whatever it was. His behavior was almost like that of a dog protecting its territory. I could tell he was getting ready to attack whatever it was. He continued to growl with his eyes locked onto that specific location for several more minutes. Whatever it was, it must have decided to leave. Merlin eventually calmed down. And that was the end of it. Merlin never again displayed that type of behavior. But it makes me wonder every so often if having a cat around provides some type of protection to its owner that wouldn't be had otherwise.

That's cool, Einstein. Cats do growl and howl. hehe. They really can sense stuff and who knows what that cat saw. Too bad you didn't have a recorder handy to try to talk to whatever Merlin saw.

Watch out for those plants...If you've seen 'The Happening'...you know what I mean. I have two dogs a Chow/Husky and a Rottweiler. They scare a lot of people and seam smarter than a lot of people. They know when storms are coming and get depressed when I am gone...just looking and waiting for my return. I can count on them unlike some people out there. I feel there is some mystery to them...instinct or psychic...unknown, but there is more to their behavior than what most people think...they have doggy powers!

I agree that they have their own way of knowing and feeling things. :) You don't have to talk to them, just the way you move and behave seems to be enough.

I absolutely believe that it does. Cats are popularly believed to be highly psychic and as someone who has been around cats all my life, I have no doubts about that. They definitely see/hear/smell/sense (and can do) things that I cannot (Or at least, that I am currently unable to do. I believe that they, unhindered by societal influence as we have been, have retained all the abilities that I think all living beings are born with. Social conditioning has crushed these things out of us. We need to learn and remember. They have never forgotten. I believe this to be true of all animals, of course, but there's just something a little "more" when it comes to cats, somehow. Or maybe I'm just biased. :)) This is probably the reason they have always been kept by magicians and other such practitioners.
