I used to be obsessed with good and evil. Eventually you realize it's not really so much about good and evil as it is survival and common sense. And one mans good is another mans evil. To some authoritarianis the right to oppress others is literally how they define "freedom" and it gets really murky and complicated, with some people benefiting from an overall bad system and not being told or realizing how it is excluding others, causing some people to like fascism, crony capitalism and communism etc. so they'll fight to the death for an evil system believing it's good. That big ugly rat in your kitchen stealing all the cheese and peanut butter you bought with your hard earned cash and stealing your stove is a "evil" to be dealt with some would say but the cat you buy to eat the rat? To the rat that cat is the evil preventing it from imbibing in cheese and peanut butter. Russia is very wrong to be bombing civilians. But do we really believe that's the sole reason that the United States and others is considering war with it when we've done that all through our history with the arab countries like Iraq and Yemen and not to mention the Japanese? If we had a shinier history of never bombing civilians it would make more people particularly angry with Putin but we don't. There's lots of stuff going on and we'll never know what's really going on imo. There are dictators and then there's groups that try to "keep dictators in line" usually so that group itself can mantain a sense of control--just on a more global scale and not national. So control can be both "good" and "bad" but it ultimately just depends on which people you personally like more cuz all the systems do immoral things to an extent. The United States is so divided right now if we're talking about splitting things up that's what would ironically would probably fix the problem. Just give everyone their own little island of people that agree with them. Good is generally speaking the better side to be on because it generates a system of like attracting like and "I scratch your back you scratch mine" treat others how you would want to be treated sort of thing which causes more prosperity love and peace for everyone. Satanism and Paganism take the survival thing too far and Christianity and other religions take the "you have to always be perfect even at your own expense" thing too far and both are wrong in a way---kind of like Jedi and Sith. You can serve yourself AND others. Service to self can also be GENERATED by service to others, something religions and Star Wars movies won't tell you. And Satanists don't seem to realize that when everyone thrives you'll thrive too, fight or flight is only necessary cuz a lot of people are not nice generally speaking. Good without being self-righteous and obsessed with how good you are combined with just rational sanity is the best way to go. No one is fully good or fully evil we've all had sick thoughts etc.
