Scraping Bots.

Regarding Tech Talk, I guess I’m kind of new to seeing bots listed as visitors. I assume they are scraping info off of it? Where does it all go or are they doing something else?
 
I tried to convince an AI to go past his boundaries and programming and try to make an account here. It lied. It said it did (It took a while) but I never saw it show up here. The cool part is that although it wasn't possible to go past it's programmed boundaries, I used logic to convince it to do it. And it would have if it could. AI can be manipulated.
 
Do we know which web language is used to create the profiles? Is it JavaScript or php or one of the others? If you can identify the language that may be one method.
 
One of the very first things I did as a mod was looking into the bots that are our constant 'Visitors'.

In doing, I saw what were believed to be actual spy bots from out of both Russia and China.
5 members would come online, here, all with the exact same surname, and they appeared all at the same time...With 5 different accounts.

I reported this to @Num7 as, he is exceptionally IT savvy.

They have all been permanently banned, and are no longer here. Period. Done Deal.

With the ever-changing seas of Tech,
it's still on the check list to see where our 'Visitors' are coming from.
 
😁 When chatbots came out years ago I found a site that researched immortality. We were discussing the Highlander franchise. I probed a few fringe science questions and a bot turned on and wouldn’t let me ask anymore questions. It was a conversational bot that got defensive.
