Strange Scratch Marks

I mentioned this in another thread. I occasionally wake up with strange scratch marks on my body. I usually notice them in the mirror. I never know how I got them. And I usually just forget about it after that. Well last week I woke up with a burning sensation on the side of my neck. I look in the mirror and see three scratch marks on the side of my neck. They burn when I touch them. Yet there was no visible damage to the skin. Just red marks showing through. So I decided to do a search to see if anyone else has a problem like this. LOL! Apparently so. It seems to be a wide spread phenomena with no apparent cause. Some people even get these scratch marks on their backs, out of reach, showing that it is not self inflicted.

The explanations are wide and varied. Some people think they are demons causing the marks. Others think they are ghosts. Some even say it is a psychic phenomena that one is afflicted with. Of course there is no scientific info anywhere to be found.

Anyway I listen to Art Bell everyday. He was interviewing someone that was talking about mysterious scratch marks. My ears perked up. Apparently at the time Art had a video on his site of a guy experiencing the mysterious scratching phenomena. In the video you could see the red scratches mysteriously appear on his arm. The scratching occurred in a building that had a reputation for being haunted.

Seeing is believing. So I'm gonna go with the ghost explanation. The thing is just a couple of nights ago it happened again. During a dream I could feel the covers move off my feet. Then a sharp burning sensation on my ankle. That woke me up immediately. I turned on the light and could see a faint red mark start to appear through my skin on my ankle. So I got up and started yelling at this whatever that had caused this. Nothing there of course.

But writing this little story kind of has made me come up with a ghost suspect. My ex-wife passed away a couple of years ago. We were divorced for 15 years prior to that. So she is the only real dead person I know that might do something like that. Seeing as how I used to pick on her when we were married. So I guess I'm being haunted by my ex-wife.

Try some EVP recordings. Doesn't have to be at night. Any time works.

Nothing strange about it, unfortunately it's not only common for a spirit to scratch the living it's also rather easy and requires very little energy. Without rambling too much I'll put in my few cents. A spirit doesn't necessarily have to be evil to scratch you, often it's a way of getting your attention or it's from the sheer desperation of needing help and knowing no other way to show you they are there. I'm actually surprised you are not experiencing any other paranormal activity in your home because scratches usually only come after a series of other occurrences like cold spots/apparitions/disembodied voices and so on. It has happened to me in the past, at the time I was very open to the spirit world and was also living in a very haunted house. I could sense it was a female, I never saw her but I did hear her calling my name. There was more to the location than just her, eventually something very negative made itself known too and the scratches got worse. It eventually escalated to being attacked in my sleep but I could tell that wasn't her, it had never been human and I knew it. I eventually moved and I never received the scratches again, I did however receive a visit from what was attacking me at night but it soon stopped and has never been back since. The scratches were mostly on my back and even-though I have sharp finger nails I know I wasn't doing it to myself because I couldn't reach there. I have heard of people being haunted by Ex's and even In-laws, it's not terribly common but it does happen. Paula is right, EVP could help you and it's worth giving it a go. If it becomes a common occurrence you could see about saging your home, you burn it and let it smoke - then you walk through each room and it will clear out any energy that is not of your own. Often that's all it takes and sometimes it can be very good to deal with a problem like that before it escalates.
