The Accidental Universe
This is a book that looks at all the things that had to occur for the universe to end up as we see it now. As it turns out, "accidental" could not be further from the truth. Though the eons there have been many critical control points that had to be just so, or we would not be here. It's almost like the odds of chance did not apply, Chance has been walking a tightrope for billions of years.

1. The Big Bang - In the beginning, the universe started as pure energy, but was dark. It would be over 100K years before things cooled down enough for subatomic particles to freeze out of the plasma universe. As things cooled, we ended up with a universe filled with almost all hydrogen. Hydrogen is the simplest atom, having only one proton and one neutron.

However, there are a whole slew of subatomic processes that are going on at lower levels. All the characteristic values for the forces and particles had to be exactly what they are our physical reality would not work.

We see a universe filled with stars and galaxies. We are very lucky, for if the size of the big bag was just a little bigger, everything would spread apart too fast for galaxies too form. Or if it were a little smaller, the expansion would have stopped and the universe collapsed by now. We are in a universe right on the razors edge seperating both these possibilities. Everything is just right for the universe to be as we see it.

2. Star Children - In the first round of stars there were no planets or even molecules heavier than hydrogen & a little helium. Fusion processes taking place in star cores created all the elements we find in the periodic table. Eventually, these first stars exploded, sending their stores of heavier elements out into the void. When the second round of stars formed, there was stuff to form planets & junk with.

Some of this "junk" ended up being us. Everything on earth, including us, is made of matter created in a star core. Here once again we beat the odds. All the different molecules follow laws that give them the properties that they have. If things were different in any way, we would not be here to talk about it.

3. The Moon - We do not live on your "average" planet. There are many things about the Earth that are not the norm. The main critical control point here is the planetary collission that resulted in the Earth/Moon system. Actually, the Moon is not really a "moon". With other planetary bodies, moons are a tiny fraction of the mass of the planet. Our Moon has a mass relative to the Earth large enough to qualify us as a binary planet system.

In the origional collision, the Earth captured the iron core of its impactor. This gave us a magnetic field powerful enough to protect us from the Sun's radiation. The Moon, in the early days, was much closer and orbited much faster. The gravitational forces were enough to cause huge tides which raced accross the land and then receeded. Eventually, conditions occurred which made the first life possible.

The Earth/Moon system also stabilized our polar axis. There is a small wobble, but much less than it would be without the Moon. A higher degree of wobble would have seasons of extremes for most of the Earth. The higher and lower latitudes could have winters without sun for 4 months and summers without night for 4 months. Not a pretty picture, eh?

4. Other Critical Points - There were many other critical control points that I have forgotten. In each case, the route taken was exactlly what it had to be. Just a little more one way or the other and we would not be here to talk about it. So, were we just extremely lucky? Was there divine guidence? How could every possibility turn out just right, each and every time? There IS another possiblity.

5. Multi-Dimensional Reality - mTheory, with 11 dimensions, is the latest step towards acheiving a unified field theory. Oops, just found myself going off on a tangent. Anyway, from a 5D perspective, the Big Bang and the nature of the Cosmos is much different than commonly talked about. There is no begining or end of time. All possibilities came into existence simultaneously. We see the past and the laws of nature that we do for a very good reason. That is, If it were any other way, we would not be here to talk about it. There are an infinite number of parallel realities where things were different. But, this is the one that enabled us to be here.

6. God- God is everything. Life is the means by which God experiences physical reality. Life causes things to be possible that could never occur in an inert universe. The immediate soul is the greater 5D portion of our physical 4D selves. Being a 5D construct, the soul (guardian angel) is able to observe our probable futures and attempt to guide us towards those that would be positive for us.

Different religions attempt to understand God from different perspectives. Even within the same religion different churches may have different views from each other. None is any better than another. They are just different roads to the same destination.

I used to be a learning leader at different Plants that I worked at. One of the key things to know about teaching, is that different people learn better in different ways. You can learn by reading, listening, observing or doing. The same goes for religion, different strokes for different folks.
