I don't know why it wouldn't. It would explain stories of people suddenly traveling through time but I couldn't explain the science behind it.

Good question. I imagine space is a mess . There so many things about space we dont know . The way we see space makes it look so peacefull. So yeah there has to be rifts and time shifts and everything you can imagine .
