According to that theory, you traveling to the past would cause a change, yes. But then you wouldn't be able to notice since your memories have been able fix themselves to comply with the current time you are in. But the change would cause a new universe
to be created that you are in, and you wouldn't be able to notice. So entire situations can change where you cannot experience the same things.
