Let's say theoretically a dark apparition appears in your living room, would flipping the light switch, making the room extremely bright change anything?
Apologiezes if this is a bad question, i am completely new to this forum.

Example picture below :)

The human eye relies upon light to see most everything so,
if an entity were solid in some sort of way...The indoor lighting would reflect off of it and you would see it that way.

Other than that,
just by turning on an interior light most every single entity would disappear from your sight because
the light would (possibly) be stronger than the energy it would take for most daemons to make themselves seen on our plane.

However, this does not affect the entity what-so-ever, they are not let's say, DESTROYED by your light bulb emitting light.
Annoyed would be the most likely reaction.

Sent away? Arguably, no daemon would ever be sent away by a light switch/bulb.

I was thinking about this also. What if ghosts are only visible in the dark.

It will not stop any daemon from entering.

As for the 'Appearing'
He/it would still be there but your man made light...Even sunlight, would blind you to their being visible.
The stronger light source overtakes and makes them now invisible. But, they are still right before you.

Turn off the light and they might still be right there, before you.
(OR they moved behind you or just closer because, they know that you've just blinded yourself.
and they can/will use this as the advantage.)

OR

They just leave, making you believe the light has had an effect upon them when, it really has not.

These are daemons you're talking about.

Do you think they are less likely to appear themselves during daylight, or in public?

No. Daylight isn't a detriment to them.
Not. At. All.

In public, they are far less likely to appear to an entire crowd,
but would STILL make their presence known to the one (or more) they are afflicting to upkeep oppression.

But don't you find it interesting that almost evert artistic drawing, story and photograph regarding demons/ghosts are either under the dark or during the night?

No, not at all.

Darkness has nearly forever been associated with daemon/spirit due to religion...Folk lore...Mythology......
This was done to get the point across that, "To deal with these strange things, was to invite the darkness into your life."
The practice was considered satanic so, the collusion with dark practices became those of the nighttime.

Dark=Evil

As far back as Medieval times

This is just ONE example of viewpoints and how they can differ over time.

Then, there is the 3:00 pm versus the 3:00 am.

Ask yourself, "Why was this made a belief?" And then do your research.
It could take the rest of your life to challenge this belief because whilst one door is then closed,
two more will appear with even more information looking into the relative belief systems.

If you are truly interested, you have to find the reason why your interest came to be.

I have personally spent a lifetime doing exactly this but,
only for my own, personal research having survived daemonic attack.

I will never completely share the goings on in their entirety
of the attacks I survived. Why would I glorify the workings of goetic daemons?

They are real.
And there are far more than just the goetic.
