The phony war on terror is designed to go on indefinitely, or at least for a few generations, as</span> <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Cheney-s-grim-vision-decades-of-war-Vice-2812372.php" target="_blank">Dick Cheney</a> <span style="color: #ccffcc">proclaimed back in 2004.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">In March, the installed manager of occupied Afghanistan,</span> <a href="http://www.infowars.com/afghan-leader-alleges-u-s-taliban-colluding/" target="_blank">Hamid Karzai</a><span style="color: #ccffcc">, voiced his frustration over the United States collaborating with the Taliban. Back in the day, when the equally phony Cold War was winding down,</span> <a href="http://www.infowars.com/al-qaeda-100-pentagon-run/" target="_blank">Ronald Reagan</a> <span style="color: #ccffcc">equated the Taliban with America’s founding fathers.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">“These (Taliban) gentlemen are the moral equivalents of America’s Founding Fathers,” said the former actor said in 1985 as he introduced Mujahideen leaders on the White House lawn.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">In 2011, a “year-long military-led investigation… concluded that U.S. taxpayer money has been indirectly funneled to the Taliban under a $2.16 billion transportation contract that the United States has funded in part to promote Afghan businesses,” the</span> <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/us-trucking-funds-reach-taliban-military-led-investigation-concludes/2011/07/22/gIQAmMDUXI_story.html" target="_blank">Washington Post</a> <span style="color: #ccffcc">reported.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">“Senior Bush Administration officials had displayed a complete lack of interest in the Afghan opium problem ever since 9/11,”</span> <a href="http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Afghanistan/Afghan_Unliberated.html" target="_blank">James Risen</a> <span style="color: #ccffcc">writes in <em>State of War</em>. “In fact, the White House and Pentagon went out of their way to avoid taking on the Afghan drug lords from the very outset of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan.”</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">In addition, the corrupt Karzai family teamed up with the CIA to work the opium fields while U.S. soldiers protected opium cultivation, a fact underscored by a Fox News segment:</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">[media=youtube]aj-b3pB6M7s[/media]</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ccffcc">In addition to the CIA and the Pentagon providing sophisticated armaments to the Taliban during the engineered war against the Soviets in Afghanistan – shoulder-fired Stinger antiaircraft missiles, delayed timing devices for tons of C-4 plastic explosives, wire-guided anti-tank missiles, extensive satellite reconnaissance data of Soviet targets, military intelligence, and a “ceaseless stream” of arms (see Phil Gasper, </span><a href="http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Afghanistan/Afghanistan_CIA_Taliban.html" target="_blank">Afghanistan, the CIA, bin Laden, and the Taliban</a><span style="color: #ccffcc">) – the group later known as al-Qaeda recruited, with the assistance of the CIA and Pakistan’s ISI, tens of thousands of “Afghan-Arab” fighters.
