Yushchenko's Speech To Congress Something Titor'ish that seemed interesting. I saw Yushchenko 's speech before congress today on C-Span. I don't actually know what to make of him. Like most politicians, he speaks from both sides of his mouth, but..... (For article) http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/20...6-ukraine_x.htm Of course I cannot find a copy of the entire transcript, yet.... but what I found interesting was how he spent a good 15 minutes on the importance of keeping a nation's constitution and civil liberties intact. He went on about the importance of a nations "People" to watch and eliminate corruption at ALL levels in the Govt. He stressed, not suprisingly, he mentioned the importance of being vigilant in watching for corruption during elections. He went on to say that he had been contacted by several organizations and individuals regarding concerns that people of the United States have regarding losing civil liberties and he claimed it to be a concern of his. With that, he stressed the importance of a nation's people to stick together and not allow boundaries of hate (He named several; racial, disability, etc...) to destroy the freedoms you cherish. "Our goal is to place Ukraine among prosperous democracies," Yushchenko said. I'm getting this largely from memory so it's not verbatem, but if anyone can find a transcript-- THAT would be great! When Titor spoke of Russia's involvement in helping us, do you s'pose he was talking about the Ukraine? If so, looks like more things are coming together. What do you guys think? Sharon
