1980's Alien Animation

Trying to track down a silent animation from the 80’s. A boy became a pet for a giant alien. He was hand sized. It may have been black and white but I’m not sure. It wasn’t for kids and there was no talking in the movie. It was really bizarre and drew you in. The alien would do everything we do with a pet, like a hamster - feed it, pet it, etc.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know!!! I can't remember the name.
