Alien microorganisms on a meteorite.

What if somehow an alien microorganism lands on earth on a meteorite and eventually after millions of years it evolves into something else.

some have suggested that alien microbes from asteroids have effected the evolution of some animals, like octopuses. Not quite the same as what you're talking about, but similar.

That's panspermia. The theory that life came to Earth from space, likely from one or more asteroids. Crashed on the surface and brought life to our world.

We know that some lifeforms are extremely tough and good at survival in extreme conditions. The cold void of space, the intense heat of atmospheric reentry. Extreme harsh conditions and environments.

A great example of such creatures is tartigrada. She is clearly not of this world.
