Anders - Backwards in time to 1830 - Unintentional

Anders posted answers to the time travel roster and I apologise for missing it. I'm copying it here and hopefully Anders will respond. I have PM'd him so that he is aware.

Interesting exercise. I like the way this assumes a traveller might not be from the future and that it might not have been intentional.

The Trip:

still working out the details of how it happened. Involved a reaction between several metals, gallium being the one that initiated the event. The fact that gallium undergoes a phase shift at relatively low temperatures (86 degrees F) is the likely reason for the reaction. Temperature differentials are important.
3) Month, day, year of arrival if known
Late summer, 1830

I speak in chatrooms using a keyboard. That convention I think is an outgrowth of "speaking" in programming languages. And I'm always looking for unconventional ways to make a point or convey a thought. Forgive the unconventional approach. Besides, I don't speak Spanish, French, Flemish, Korean. I had to say SOMETHING.
