Captain Leale Martelli - The Odyssey in the Realms of Time

The Captain Martelli mission had begun finding an unexpected obstacle: the romitone in person, in the form of an Armenian monaco, had welcomed Leale in his home, the mirror. The romitone made it clear to Leale that he would allow him to go back in time until 1944 only if Leale had helped him to save a dynasty Tigran descendant from hanging.
The romitone warned Leale about the danger that he could be hanged in an attempt to save the Armenian. Leale Martelli, having no other choice, accepted the proposal. Leale expressed his misgivings about whether to travel so much back in time, feared that it could be very dangerous. Perhaps the sacred cup would not be enough to save his life.
At that point the romitone made a big laugh "the sacred cup that you have brought so carefully is just a fake copy. The original is in a safe place, i took it by deception to a poor hermit monaco. Now from this cup the phoenix only can drink the phoenix watches over it. Those who were electrocuted, I have only my will and maybe one day it's up to you, but now captain not fear, for the occasion you will have protection worthy of a demigod, a pair of wings that will protect you covering you during your trip".
At that point the romitone called the Leale attention on a large mirror which reflected the altar of the Valle Benedetta Church image. Gradually the image incorporated both romitone that Leale who found themselves inside the church. The romitone pointed to two statues near the altar. Statues that seemed angels o arcangeli, but by demonic wings. The romitone replied: "Behold, these are my faithful guardians of the time, they will accompany you on your journey." Leale replied: "two stone statues? I'll maybe bring them back?" The romitone grinned and said, "like the heart of you men turns to stone when it is full of hatred, I can give life to two stone statues that I love." So romitone nodded and the two statues came to life and approached the captain, so close that Leale was disgusted by the stench of wild emanating from them.
 
Then the romitone headed for another mirror and suddenly changed the scenery and everyone found themselves in the stone garden adjacent to villa Huygens. At that point the romitone turned to Leale and said: do you like this garden? Well, this garden belongs to me, it is a gift from noble Huygens for the services I offered. I once owned a similar garden in the lands of Sais in the lower Egypt, right at the entrance to the great overturned pyramid, my master's residence where I was the guardian before becoming a dealer of time. This stone garden is much smaller than the original, but the geometries are the same, above and below the ground. I often come to this garden that reminds me of my old dwelling, the noble Huygens really did a great job and for that I wanted to fulfill his great desire: eternal life and eternal wealth. The romitone continued: have a look captain, on that balcony you will see the noble Huygens now. Leale looked ahead himself and found in a new environment, just below the balcony of villa Huygens and saw the nobleman on the top of the balcony throwing huge gold coins with the effigy of the Christ under the balcony. Noble Huygens had eternal life and wealth, but he had been deceived by the romitone who had condemned him to cast gold coins from the terrace for the eternity. Shortly afterwards, the romitone turned to Leale again and headed for a mirror that led everyone, including the two archangels, to the top of a hill, where the remains of three abandoned mills stood. From that point it was possible to see the weak lights of the city of Livorno, but with a nod of romitone those little lights turned into a big city with great palaces and minarets. It was the city of Constantinople, as it was represented in 1909. At that point the two archangels wound the captain with their wicked wings and closed him as in a cocoon. After a few moments, once the wings were reopened, they left Leale Martelli right in the heart of the city of Constantinople, near the Galata bridge at 3:30 AM on Monday, May 3, 1909.

There are a few designs or chronovisor on this website as well as on the net. The big puzzle is there are thousands of eager DIY guys who want to do it..but no one reported building it, or using it...why ?
 
The two archangels carried Leale Martelli to the edge of the Galata Bridge, then spoke to the captain with the voice of the romitone and said: save the Armenian to bring it here to the bridge where we are waiting for you. The archangels informed Leale that the Armenian would be hanged first and that it would be easy to recognize him because he was the only one with blindfolded eyes. The two archangels advised Leale to act before the area of execution filled up with people since the chariot of the condemned would arrive an hour before the time of execution. The captain greatly appreciated the advice and went to the rudimentary scaffolds. The moon was almost full and the starry sky, this did not favor mimicry. The captain flattened to the ground and advanced crawling toward a bed near the scaffold.
As he thought of what he should do, he almost fell as he was very tired, but the scream of a muezzin by a minaret near him brought him to the point. In the distance, Leale saw the faint lantern lights of the chariot carrying the condemned men who were approaching. The muezzin scream had announced the prayer of 04:30 AM, but it was still dark enough. Leale saw at the foot of the scaffold an ax-shaped instrument used to construct the scaffolds and held it as if it was a weapon. The first chariot came near the scaffold shortly afterwards and contained four convicts kneeling. Three seemed military and one, with blindfolded eyes, a civilian. The wagon was escorted by three young, short guards, so that Leale standing next to them looked like a giant. Leale struck the guards with the pointed tool found on the ground, the guards taken by surprise dropped instantly. Leale, prey to a murderous rampage, continued to strike the guards even on the ground now dead and this was a great pleasure for the romitone.
At that point Leale went up to the chariot with the intention of getting away with all the condemned, but the horse did not move a step. Then he took down the prisoners and tried to take them to the bridge after he had untied their hands, as other guards were coming. The two archangels did not like the presence of the other condemned, took with them the Armenian and threw the others into the river. At that point Leale also threw himself into the river in an attempt to save a convict who still had his hands tied behind his back. Unfortunately, the condemned panicked clutched Leale and he dragged him to the bottom. This episode too enjoyed the romitone.
