Yes, Cliff High developed a linguistic technique about 20 years ago; it mines the internet for language that uses emotion over time. The theory is that as an event of crisis approaches the collective hive mind takes some its emotive energy back in time. That is a highly simplified description; he called it the Web bot project. He used it to predict that the lights would go out at The Superbowl one year, and they did. He claims to have seen the Corona Virus about 10 years before in his data; as 2020 got closer the term "Sun Virus" got stronger. He doesn't work on The Web bot now. He hasn't got the time and the censorship of the internet interferes with his language engine.
