I believe Maddy1 is talking about the Big Bang/ Big Crunch theory where the Universe expands and reaches some undefined limit and then collapses back in on itself to its original state at the Big Bang and that then it expands again. This theory holds that this may be happening now and may have happened any number of times already. There is conjecture that when the Universe reaches this limit and begins collapsing that Time begins to run backward also. The problem with this idea is that it requires entropy to reverse also and I'm not sure how or why the Universe might accomplish that.
