dreams and deju vu

so i am not most lucid of dreamers but have been in the habit of writing down or recording dreams that are reoccurring or feel prominent in some way since i was a teenager. on a handful of occasions i have experienced deju vu where i track the original moment back to a dream.

for example, early last year i recorded a dream that felt particularly vivid (abridged version):
i was sailing on a large wooden ship through an icy cavern. eventually i left the ship where i walked across ice that was breaking apart and onto a wooden dock then through a dark, wooden doorway sticking out from the side of the cavern. after that i found myself in a small, rather sparse hardware store browsing in the middle aisle and facing the entrance with a bright light shining through the window. i was with a familiar person who turned and said something to me as my head was tilted down to the left. i don't remember what they said (i never remember what people say in dreams).
several months later the scene in the hardware store played out exactly as described. i didn't realize what it was at first and just had that intense deju vu feeling that i couldn't place or I would have recorded more about that moment to compare.

i guess logically it seems like a reasonable coincidence as dreams tend to be vague and amorphous (memories even more so) and foresee-ably could predict something as banal as standing in a hardware store with a familiar person. its not a common place for me to be but not an unusual place either and i also tend to be day dreamy and look down at things.
at the same time the person i was with was an ex i had a lot of tension with and i tend to have dreams of the ocean (often involving boats) when having conflict with lovers or partners. it was also in an area i had moved to after having the initial dream so i had not previously seen the hardware store before i moved.

has anyone had similar experiences? or thoughts? i don't chock it up to a psychic experience but it has happened a handful of times. the example given just happened to have the most detailed recording and it happened only months of having the dream (other times has been years which leaves more doubt, poor recollection). i also usually feel really alarmed and/or confused when experiencing deju vu and am bad at recording those moments to compare to dream notes later. any suggestions?

Hi and Welcome to Paranormalis :)
Thanks for sharing your dream with us, i found it interesting and you wrote it in a "no-nonsense" manner..(y)

Welcome. i encourage the habit of writing down and recording dreams.
My take on this issue is sui generis diverting from the mainstream framework from the traditional Newton's material Physics.
According to the later approach a dream means nothing more than a dream= that's to say, only a drama plot performed by the mind or the resulting impact of the hormones secreted by the brain on the psychic complex.
The oniric scene is a valid reality, such as the so called 3d reality is for most of us. The first differs from the later mainly for the fact the etherical plane upon which the dreamer is acting out his oniric drama pertains to a much subtler type of dimension or realm. Being brought up and educated under a limited narrow minded orthodox way in splitting in parts in order to understand, and upon this process of ongoing divisions and splitting is how the intellect Works. And through the comparing measuring splitting in parts in order to analyse, and analyse means exactly dividing or dissecting, well making use of the 3d intellect we lose the ability to judge spiritual realities, and dreams belong to spiritual realities. It is a case of spiritual blindness , for those who do not have eyes to see, paraphrasing Jesus. But , otherwise, for those who can see , surely dreams are as valid, and even more real than the phenomena of our 3d world. And dreams, or the spiritual Plays reveal the realities still to come, i mean, the spirit digs into a future episode virtually foreseeing episodes springing up and finally popping out on our 3d reality.
It leads us invariably to a conundrum= Is there a destiny, a fate?
This may sound confusing cause we are led to think of the inexistence of the free will if destiny exists. But if we start to think through the spiritual optics we will understand that our thoughts are the most real thing in all. Everything was and will be created by thought. Under this new scope in considering things we have been continuously creating our future by our current thoughts. It is a reality in potence not in the actual state.
A more sensitive person, a psychic can read the virtual episodes to come true, i say virtual on purpose for the fact that the occurence can be changed any time as the subject changes his way of thinking.
Na instance . Suppose you dream your friend John is being stabbed at the doorway of a public bar or a pub. It can be a Strong possibility that the oniric event really happens . If it actually happens you will say that you have had a deja vu. But let suppose your friend John has had a terrible experience being missed for inches to be rolled over by a truck as he left the pub completely cock eyed , so to say. Consequently , old John gives up drinking, he had a transformative experience that led him give up alcohol. Since John is not a drinker anymore your dreaful dream of John being stabbed on the pub doorway will not come true anymore.

I would like to clarify a point or two relating to destiny or determinism.
The same issue can be seen from at least two diferente scopes.
Determinism is and is not at the same time. To be =meaning 'existing'. Just like in the sentence= 'God is'= God exists'.
Firstly= Certain episodes relating to the future 'will' happen. Unless a radical change occurs. Taking for granted that we are beings who often and most invariably stick ourselves to habits increases the chance of the future event to happen. There are individuals who intermittently go to the same places at the same time, and linger there for the same period of time in a never ending way through decades .
Recurring suicidal individuals, those who gave themselves away to a most compelling desire towards self destruction and succeeded in annihilating the physical form 'will' certainly commit the same mistake. Unless, as i said, the individual is moved ,mostly through/by a radical transformative event, something carrying a Strong emotional impact, Strong enough to dissolve the itching temptation and finally changing the way into conducting a life.
So as to prevent himself, he who has repeatedly committed the same mistake in previous lives, to avoid himself to persist into the same tendency, the suicidal may opt (choose) for a defective body or mind before reincarnating upon the Earth for one more trial.
Determinism is a relative issue, but since the odds are extremely favorable into the occurence of the event, let's say that in predicting that Mr. Suicidal 'will' kill himself at the age of 56, the psychic will have 9 out of 10 in terms of chance of being successful in his prediction. And this is for the simple fact that Mr. Suicidal will have the same 9 out of 10 in odds towards another self annihilation act.
