earth before trees

Interesting find. A lot of things we would not expect took place on Earth in the distant past, things were so different than they are right now.

I never imagined giant mushrooms once occupied the place trees have nowadays.

Imagine a world with mushrooms instead of trees. Is it even possible to make paper out of that?
