I was wondering could we somehow harness the energy of light to sail a spaceship at speeds close to the speed of light, much like how a sailboat harnesses the energy of wind.
Closer to the sun where light energy is more concentrated, it could work for propulsion. But not light speed.
A while back I remember seeing a YouTube video where a cone shaped object was propelled upwards just by hitting the underside of the object with a laser beam.
