FBI Warning: Millions Can Lose Internet Access on July 9

Cyber crime is a growing problem these days. Currently, millions of people risk losing their internet access this summer because of an Estonian virus that has hijacked computers world-wide.
Most internet users are unaware of that their computer has been infected, but fortunately there is a method to find out if one has become a victim of the malicious software.
The botnet worked by infecting Windows machines via malware known as DNSChanger, which allowed the perpetrators to modify browser settings and redirect Web traffic to advertising sites.
They then collected lots of cash in the form of fraudulent commissions.
Millions of people world-wide risk losing their internet access.
But when DNSChanger was detected in the NASA computer network, the Estonian IT company that served as a front for the operation found themselves at the wrong end of an FBI investigation dubbed "Operation Ghost Click."
In November 2011, six Estonian nationals have been arrested and charged with running a sophisticated Internet fraud ring that infected millions of computers worldwide.
They are now accused of having earned over 100 million.
They received only some cents for each click, but when hundreds of thousands of people are doing it for years, it becomes a lot of money.
In November last year over 4 million computers were infected and the number has been growing.
Unfortunately, the investigation is now too expensive for FBI and operation Ghost Click will end on July 9.
