I just found this a few days ago and this is crazy! I knew there were Rennaisance faires and the like, but I never realized or even thought that people would still be making real armor and fighting it out like they did back in the day. Apparently it's a professional sport and as of last year, the first USA team took the field. They got trounced by the Russians who apparently win it every year, but it's called Battle of the Nations. You can find all kinds of videos on Youtube. But the US team has a website with some links. This is just.. it really blows my mind. I mean watch the videos. This is not a reenactment. This is giant sized grown adults beating the snot out of each other with swords!
