This is an interesting article to read that links the Sun's magnetic field activity to a possible reason for global warming. Apparently we are in a high activity cycle. This contributes to reduced cosmic rays hitting the earth. That would lead to less cloud cover. So less radiation gets reflected back out into space. Thus causing a warming effect.
