I'm getting a puppy

Hi everyone, long time no see! Num is doing a great job with the site; I'm happy he took the place on so I can have some semblance of a life :p

So I'm getting a basset hound pup towards the end of the month when she's old enough. Her name is Hoshi! I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for taking care of a basset pup and had any stories they'd like to share.

Don't let the pup crap on the rug too often lol ! She has a nice name, Hoshi sounds good. :) Did you have a dog before ? I had a dog as a kid, but I've never been involved in dog training and such.

I like what I'm doing here, it's everything I thought it would be.

Be sure to spoil your pup. Feed her from the table. Hell, let her crap on the table. LOL

Bassets have a mournful howl. Beagles too. I had a beagle named Rocco and when he would howl, I called it "Rocco's Lament."

I've got a friend on another board that claims that Basset Hounds actually created humans from apes. They did it so that we could dig gold for them. And to make ham for them. And (of course) to scratch their mighty ears.
