They differ on a few very emotional and noisy issues such as gay marrige and abortion. These get the bases fired up, and allow them to appear to differ, while working together on turning us into a police state. If you don't like Bush, wait until 08 when we get Hilary. Then we will have a whole other kind of religious repression as right wing christians are considered terrorists. I'm sure you will be happier than a pig in a mudhole then. Meanwhile the plan progresses with people like you none the wiser.

Our entire legal system is based on biblical morality which is pretty much the same as the morality of all other religions, so whats the problem? If you want to tear down that system, you better have some ideas on what to replace it with.

That was some pretty creative interpretation of my words there. And to answer your question not at all. You are asking that minorities have their rights protected to a greater extent than the majoraty. To illistrate, if I were to lay into any religious, racial, or sexual minority the way you lay into christians, you would be screaming hate crime so loud that Saddam Hussain would be complaining about the noise from his cell. That means that you want to set it up so that you can speak out against one group, while they cannot speak out against you. That is not eqilaty it is tyrranny of the minorities.

Abortion and gay rights are two hot button issues that stir up emotions but have little effect on how the country runs, or the life of the average american. They have a pretty good idea of how many people in what areas are going to react how when these issues get hot. They can fight over these issues in public, and it doesn't much matter who wins. They use them to control elections, and to keep the illusion of a two party system.
Interasting you brought up gun control. While Bush talks a Pro second ammendment game, he is very quietly working on the opposite agenda. The right kind of has a tiger by the tail with the gun lobby. The plan is reaching the stage where they MUST disarm the citizens, but if the right looses that lobby, the balance is disrupted. I expect the next swing to the left to be curtins for the second ammendment.

I support the minutemen beacause if any group of people on a chunk of land want to call themselves a nation, they must control who can and cannot enter their land. These invaders have no right to be here, and they are causing the standard of life of the average working class American to deteriorate. The federal government's job is to take care of it's citizens, and by allowing this they are failing. The citizens have every right and duty to step up and do it until the feds start.
