More on Saudi/U.S. War

Here's an old story from the LA Times saying that Saudi Arabia was behind the 9-11 attacks. A Quote:

"However one interprets the 27 pages, all who have read them agreed on one thing: If they are made public, they will prove extremely embarrassing not only to the Saudi government but also to the U.S. government, particularly to the FBI for missing so many clues pointing to Riyadh and for not aggressively investigating them, sources said."

"If this comes out, it will blow the top off the relations with [the Saudi] government because the American people will just be outraged," said one source familiar with the report.

"People don't know how much is in there and how specific it is," the source said. "The public hasn't gotten anywhere near the meat of it."

The motive? To force the US to attack Saddam and remove the threat of an Iraqi invasion of Saudi Arabia. Also, to blackmail the US into invading Afghanistan and apprehending Osama Bin Laden:

Here is evidence, from four years ago, that Saddam was still fulfilling his role as US "attack dog" (his role was to threaten the Saudis when they got out of line). Iraq was threatening Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2000, as oil prices went up to to Saudi "restraint."

Well, the reason for covering this up are understandable in a way. It has nothing to do with Bush's "connections" with the Saudis. It has to do with the nightmare that would unfold if we were forced by public outcry to attack Saudi Arabia.
Any invasion of Saudi Arabia would mean a hostile incursion into the Muslim's most holey land. This would instantly and unarguably cause just about every muslim on the face of the earth to launch a violent Jihad against the united states, including ones who live here. In other words, the day we crossed into the holey land, a very confused and borderless world war three would start. Pakastan would probably launch what nukes it has at us, and we would be forced to retaliate, this might bring the Russians into it.
In the end, either the Muslims or the westerners would cease to exist in very short order.

I agree, although Herr Bush has had some fairly shady dealings with the Saudi's and will inevitably continue to foster these post-President. These must have some impact on his decision making, they certainly would on his bank balance.

Most of these allagations come from his family investing in some of the same funds as them. Mabey something there, but as far as evidence goes its kind of like saying someone has orginized crime connections beacause they use the same bank as John Gotti.
