My Camera won't work... batteries?

I'm using a Nikon Coolpix 3200.

Every time i put new batteries in it it VERY soon if not immediately after asys it has no power. it's set to use alkaline AA's which is what i'm using.

The only thing i can think of is that it's broken, or it's the batteries. the batteries have been bought at the 99cent store so that's what i'm guessing on.

The digital camera we have does the same thing it seems... Sucks up battery juice like there's no tomorrow. Maybe you have your LCD on? That always takes a lot of power...

yeah but i'm sure it wouldn't make that much of a difference given the circumstances. when i say soon.... i mean like immediately after i start using it.

like seconds hahaha

it seems to be able to go a while if you don't take a photo, but when you push the button down all the way it suddenly is out of power, on brand new batteries. otherwise it just starts up and immediately thereafter says there's no power lol.

i need to get a good lithium battery.
