After it was determined to be a tooth, it was further determined there was DNA within that could be tested. Testing returned results showing between 97% to 99% human DNA but the specific match is unknown to any records in the international database. This determination appears to be followed by a request to analyze the physical tooth itself for further research, with the bold assertion that it may be from an unknown or undocumented species followed by advising the sample not be handled or further exposed to the environment or contaminants.

National Institutes of Health said:
Humans and chimpanzees shared a common ancestor approximately 5-7 million years ago (Mya). The difference between the two genomes is actually not approximately 1%, but approximately 4%--comprising approximately 35 million single nucleotide differences and approximately 90 Mb of insertions and deletions.

So it could be DNA from something about as closely related to human as a chimp.

(If this isn't all just a load of beans, that is.)

Damn near everything involving Bigfoot becomes a load of beans.

But there's a lot of beans about Bigfoot in the news lately lol.

including a theory they're all just black bears. Don't quite buy that but I don't quite buy Bigfoot either necessarily
