Particle traffic patterns?

I was wondering what manages or directs the traffic patterns of particles that are traveling around the particle “highway system” for lack of better term. Do particles ever collide? Is it just some theory of laws directing them?

Particles only exist if they are being created by a consciousness, and they are created within the rules of the simulation so they will never collide naturally unless you are making them manifest to do so. So they aren't really out there just floating around anywhere.
Within the rules of the simulation there are mathematical laws in place which keeps things in specific orbits and such though.
