It's hateful jerks like these who give Christians a bad name! This is NOT what Jesus would do!

Players behind anti-Muslim film that incited protests in Mideast linked by anger toward Islam

DUARTE, Calif. - The shared belief that radical Islam threatens the world brought together an ex-convict, an insurance salesman and a Christian charity in production of a crudely crafted film that ridicules Muslims and the prophet Muhammad and has incited violent protests across the Middle East.

Media for Christ, a non-profit that raised more than $1 million last year "to glow Jesus' light" to the world, was listed as the production company for the film. Steve Klein, a California insurance salesman and Vietnam War veteran who has spent years protesting at mosques and espousing hatred of radical Muslims, acted as the film's promoter.

And Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, who authorities say has used multiple names and was convicted of bank fraud, says he managed logistics for the film.

Federal authorities have identified Nakoula as the key figure behind the film. A federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday that authorities had connected Nakoula to a man using the pseudonym of Sam Bacile who claimed earlier to be writer and director of the film.

Most of "Innocence of Muslims" was shot in about two weeks inside a squat warehouse that serves as the offices of Media for Christ, according to Eric Moers, who served as chief electrician for the production.

What prompted Media for Christ's involvement isn't known because the organizations' leaders have not spoken publicly. And much about the film remains a mystery, notably who financed it.

Media for Christ, which produces a program called "The Way TV," reported spending nearly $650,000 on "TV recording production" in 2011. But the organization did not break down those costs so it's unclear if any of that money was spent on the film.

The clumsily produced movie, which looks like a spoof, alternately portrays Muhammad as a fraud, a womanizer and a child molester. Despite its poor production value, the film would have cost at least tens of thousands of dollars to make because of the equipment used and the professional actors and stage hands who were hired. The permit, issued by Film LA, could have cost under $1,000 though details aren't known because the document has been sealed at the request of federal law enforcement officials.

Moers said the film took 15 to 16 days to shoot and 90 per cent of the work was done at the Media for Christ studios. He said one day was spent at a movie ranch in Santa Clarita, and one day was spent filming at the home of the man he knew as Bacile. Most of the film was shot using a backdrop to simulate other locations. The crew members received sheets with the scenes each day — never a full script — and Moers said there was no mention of the word "Muhammad" throughout the filming. Other actors have come forward to say references to Muhammad were dubbed after the film was shot and they had no idea the film would be so denigrating. "I'd say this was the most unprofessional professional film I've worked on," said Moers, who estimated the cost of production at $100,000. "I don't think anyone took it seriously." He said he was paid with a check issued on the account of Abanob Basseley Nakoula, the 20-year-old son of the purported filmmaker.

While Klein has granted a steady stream of interviews and is unapologetic for the film, Nakoula has disappeared since talking to an Associated Press reporter in his driveway Wednesday. And Media for Christ President Joseph N. Abdelmasih has not spoken publicly.

Tax records for the charity do not identify any donors other than Abdelmasih, who lent the organization at least $30,000. He did not return phone messages and an email sent to the charity. Kamal Rizk, listed as vice-president on federal records, did not return several phone messages.
Abdelmasih, a Christian originally from Egypt, has spoken out against radical Islam and participated in a protest against a proposal to build a mosque and Islamic cultural centre near the World Trade Center site.

The Media for Christ offices are located just off a freeway and next to a mall with big-box stores in the quiet Los Angeles suburb of Duarte. There is no sign on the building identifying the non-profit.
City Manager Darrell George said Media for Christ held a valid business license since 2006 and no issues had ever come up, until authorities confirmed earlier this week that the group was listed on the film permit.

One of Klein's platforms was a weekly show on Media for Christ's satellite network, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Klein has a long history of anti-Muslim activities. He founded Courageous Christians United, which conducts protests outside abortion clinics, Mormon temples and mosques. He also started Concerned Citizens for the First Amendment, which preaches against Muslims and publishes volumes of anti-Muslim propaganda that Klein distributes. The Southern Poverty Law Center says they have been tracking Klein for several years and have labeled two of the organizations he is affiliated with as hate groups.

LA Sheriff: Federal probation officers interview US filmmaker linked to anti-Islamic movie

September 15, 2012 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. - U.S. authorities say federal probation officers have interviewed a southern California filmmaker linked to an anti-Islamic movie inflaming protests across the Middle East.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman said early Saturday that 55-year-old Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was interviewed at the department's Los Cerritos station. Deputy Don Walker says the 55-year-old man was not arrested and travelled voluntarily in a squad car with deputies to the station, which is near his home.

Walker says he doesn't have information on the interview or how long it lasted.

Station KNBC says Kakoula went to the station early Saturday morning.

Federal probation officials couldn't be reached early Saturday. Earlier they said they were investigating the activities of Nakoula, who has been convicted of financial crimes.

Christians and other Americans are getting a bad rap over this movie production. The problem is that 99.9999999% of these people, being rioted against, never heard of this movie before the Libya incident. The "non-profit" church who financed the movie should do some real soul searching or join up with that other non-church from KS. An example of how a small screwed up group effecting the majority in a negative way. I think of a lyric from an Alice Cooper song, "Now that really pisses me off," which explains my thoughts on this whole thing.

Radical Muslims are using this stupid film as an excuse for war against America, which they long to have.

I'm also watching Obama's reactions. He's been consistently more sympathetic with Muslims than with Israel. That's a fact.Like a year or two ago when Obama suggested Israel push it's borders back to pre-1967 (6-Day War) days. Netanyahu was graceul in his reaction, but it was a truly outrageous suggestion that revealed Obama's unconcern for Israel.

Obama's unwillingness to try and resolve the immediate nuclear threat with Iran is another perfect example: Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: Iran on brink of nuclear bomb in 6-7 months

One of the recent remarks from Obama in light of the attacks against Americans over that anti-Muslim film was, "Let us never forget that for every angry mob, there are millions who yearn for the freedom, and dignity, and hope that our flag represents," he said. The statement is untrue and ridiculous. American Troops should pull out of the Middle East and leave them to do their own bidding. To me, that statement shows that he is still sympathetic with Muslims.

About what's happening with Muslims, Iran, Obama, etc...Jesus said, we will know them by their "fruits"...aka, Actions speak louder than words.

About Israel...God says, He will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel. His word never fails.

I must support this group's right to free speech, regardless as to whether I agree or not. Nothing any group does will increase or reduce the radical Muslims hatred for America.
Radical Muslims require no excuse to attack anyone not a Muslim. That is their calling, in their opinion, from their religion. Another interesting out come of "man's" religious endeavors. We should not forget Christianity's own endeavors to wipe out non-believers.
Unless the "Peaceful" Muslims step in and take control of their radical brethren, there will be a reason and a need to destroy the radical Muslims to their roots, an unlikely proposition for anyone, except God, to accomplish.
If the "Peaceful" Muslims do not take control of their radical brethren, they must understand that they will be responsible for their own collateral damages.
We can not win a war against radicals that hide behind their women and children unless we cast off political correctness and fight the war as Napoleon said, "War must be made as intense and awful as possible in order to make it short, and thus to diminish its horrors."

Everyone needs to stop getting so angry... Over a movie... Likes like a toddler getting angry at me for making a movie about Santa Claus not being real. Seems like they are just looking for an excuse to continue violence... :XD:

Anti-Islam Priest Reportedly in Hiding
By Vikki Vargas and Bill French

An Orange County priest who's been described as "Islam's public enemy No. 1" has reportedly gone into hiding in the wake of explosive reaction abroad to an anti-Muslim film linked to a Southern California filmmaker.

Neighbors say they haven't seen Coptic Christian priest Zakaria Botros in recent days, and no one answered the door Monday at his Huntington Beach home, which is protected by six video surveillance cameras.

"I think they’re gone," neighbor Bill Schroeder said.

Botros, known as Father Zakaria, has been an outspoken critic of Islam for years.

According to his website, the Egyptian-born priest's goal is to convert Muslims to Christianity – a project that makes him a controversial figure.

In a recent television broadcast Botros,77, said, "Islam is not the answer. Jihad is not the way. Jesus is the way. Jesus is the truth."

Al Qaeda has reportedly put a bounty on Zakaria's head.

The Christian magazine "World" gave Botros an award in 2008 for his work. He was quoted back then as saying, "I love...Muslims, I hate Islam."

He was also a mentor to three people linked to the short, low-budget Internet film "The Innocence of Muslims," which has incited violence in the Middle East and North Africa.

Zakaria's teachings are said to be similar to anti-Muslim and anti-Muhammed insults made in the film.

Steve Klein, who said he was a consultant on the film made at a studio in Duarte, has called Botros a "close friend."

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula of Cerritos, another Egyptian Coptic Christian who has also been in hiding since controversy arose over film he was involved in, has also expressed support for Botros.

A person who said they were a relative of Botros contacted NBC4 and said the priest was in hiding and his life had been threatened.

In a recent television broadcast Botros,77, said, "Islam is not the answer. Jihad is not the way. Jesus is the way. Jesus is the truth."

Thanks for the article Professor.

This guy got it all wrong. Jesus didn't convert people through ridicule and persecution. He converted them through acts of love. This guy missed the points that our Lord brought to us.

Maybe Muslims could become Mormons? Who would you rather vote for, a Muslim, a Mormon, or the Rev. Wright Protege' ??

At least Titor had "Warning Labels" on his machine.

How about "autotuning" that bad Muslim movie? (It needs all the help it can get, by the way).

(Autotune is an electronic effects box that makes a not so great singer sing in tune by correcting the voice)
(and can be used for many things!)
like "autotune the news"
